Residents are encouraged to “have their say” on the proposed paid parental leave scheme being considered by the Federal Government.
It is important that all sectors of the community have input on the scheme, which would have a major long-term impact on Australian workplaces and families.
The Productivity Commission released a draft report on Parental Leave last month, and is now calling for written submissions by 14th November.

Mr Speaker, I rise in this chamber today humbled by the honour and the significance of representing the people of Mayo in the Federal Parliament.
In the shadows of a political giant I stand here as the second person to represent this great electorate. It is appropriate to pay tribute to my predecessor, Alexander Downer.
