State Government should reassure Lakes communities
Today I have written to the Minister for Health, the Hon. John Hill, seeking reassurance for the people of the Lower Lakes that the acid sulphate dust storms whipped up during high winds are not a health risk to the community.

The Federal and State governments must immediately use the $200 million earmarked to help save the Lower Lakes and Coorong.

Summer racing is back and Kingscote's annual Coopers Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival will again be held this year from Thursday 19 February until Saturday 21 February 2009.
The 3 day carnival, the biggest KI tourist event for the year, will be held at the Kingscote Racecourse at Cygnet River (10 Mins from Kingscote) and will be a fun day of racing, entertainment, fashions on the field and local food and wine.
