Media Release - Rural women urged to nominate for award - Monday 10 October 2011

Women living in rural areas are reminded they only have one week left to apply for the 2012 Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) Rural Women’s Award.

 

The RIRDC Rural Women’s Award is Australia’s pre-eminent award which recognises the contribution that rural women make to primary industries, resource development and rural Australia at large.

 

The 2012 RIRDC Rural Women’s Award provides financial assistance, mentoring and access to a nation-wide network of business and community leaders for the selected winners.

 

Kim Blenkiron of Strathalbyn was awarded the 2011 South Australian Rural Women’s Award and went on to represent South Australia at a national level.  Kim was recognised for her leadership in the grazing and cropping industry.
