My federal colleagues and I have recently launched a nationwide petition to get lawn bowls back on the ABC.
Lawn bowls is one of the largest participation sports in Australia with around 800,000 people taking part annually. The decision by the ABC to cease programming bowls after 30 years is a significant blow to the sport and the bowling community.
The ABC recently informed Bowls Australia that the national broadcaster would be discontinuing the broadcasting of bowls.
have written to all bowling clubs in the electorate, inviting members to sign the petition, so that together we can encourage the ABC to continue its long term association with Bowls Australia.
The petition is available for signing at my electorate office in Mount Barker and also at bowling clubs in the electorate.
I look forward to presenting the petition to Parliament and getting bowls back on the ABC.
