Residents in Ashton, Norton Summit and Basket Range are hopeful for improved communications coverage, following plans announced by Telstra at a community meeting held last Thursday.
At the meeting held in Basket Range, the Area General Manager of Telstra Country Wide, Mark Bolton outlined that Telstra are planning to install a base station in Ashton, which will allow businesses and residents alike to enjoy the benefits of greater communications.
Over 100 people attended the community meeting, which allowed many to raise specific issues in relation to internet services. Telstra undertook to work with these residents to hopefully find solutions.
Telstra has confirmed that the planned base station is now going through the development assessment process with the Adelaide Hills Council.
This is positive news for the communities. I will continue to monitor the progress of this important infrastructure to ensure improved communication services to the region.
