Media Release - Mayo grower has best grading technology in Australia - Thursday 11 November 2010
A local potato grower company located in Mayo will be the first in Australia to trial infrared digital camera technology at its washing and grading facility in Mt Barker.
The South Australian Potato Company has been granted $78,000 under the Federal Government’s Regional Food Producers Innovation and Productivity program.
Today I had the pleasure of commissioning the new camera grading system on site.
The new technology surpasses standard industry procedure and will afford the company greater productivity capacity.
This is a great achievement for a local, family owned and operated business, which employs 55 staff.
I congratulate the South Australian Potato Company on their successful grant application.
